If you're looking for a happy, encouraging word nerd to support you (or your children) at any level of life & learning, you've come to the right place! I've found my deepest joy in the world of English tutoring for 9 years now! My philosophy has been & always will be that the well-being of my students comes first. In the 2020 world, this comes in the form of a pre-homework emotional check-in, extra smiles via Zoom, & a concerted effort to operate on a mental level sensitive to my students' individual experiences.
As a tutor, it's also crucial for me to take the time to understand the learning style of each of my clients. Some students need written explanation (i.e. a physical outline or checklist for pre-writing essay mapping.) Others are more successful using auditory tactics (i.e. reading SAT test questions quietly to themselves in order to comprehend them better before attempting to answer.) Yet, even others may need a combo of both (i.e. writing out a Shakespeare stanza on a piece of paper while simultaneously reading it out loud to find the proper pronunciation via iambic pentameter.) No matter what method is called for, nothing is more valuable to me than ensuring the lowest level of frustration & the highest level of self-confidence in every single tutoring session. Patience is everything, even if it means it may take a little longer to get into a consistent learning rhythm.

Alex saved my life, truly! I so don't understand Shakespeare and my entire grade on a course was based on my ability to analyze a piece. I worked with Alex and not only did she break down the piece in a way that was easy to understand, but she helped me find my voice which made the paper so much easier. And the best part, Alex is so kind and fun. She never made me feel dumb and created such a great environment for me to get this done quickly. I can't recommend her highly enough if you are stuck on any kind of writing project!

Due to all of the uncertainties in current times, I do not have a cancellation policy in order to be as fair to my students as possible. However, please respect that, as well as being top tier academic assistance for clients, this is also my livelihood; thus, in the event of a necessary cancellation, please do your best to contact me as early as possible about the missed session.
IMPORTANT: More than two missed sessions in a row without prior notification will result in a 24-hour advance notice cancellation policy being implemented which, if not adhered to, will result in an automatic billing of ONE HOUR'S WORTH of session time.
