About Chloe

I am a recent Law graduate from the University of Cambridge, originally from Hong Kong and now based in London. I completed the International Baccalaureate at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, achieving 44/45 with Grade 7s in all six subjects, including English A Literature, History and Economics at Higher Level.

I have several years of experience working with young people through academic tutoring, mentoring, and debating and public-speaking programmes. During university, I tutored MYP English and Mathematics, and I have also taught students through programmes in the UK and Hong Kong.

Outside academics, I am a keen competitive debater and public speaker. I represented Cambridge at the World Universities Debating Championships in Vietnam and Panama and previously represented Hong Kong at the World Individual Public Speaking and Debating Championships, where I was a finalist in three categories. Having studied in both Hong Kong and the UK, I enjoy working with students from different educational backgrounds and aim to be approachable, patient and encouraging.

Outside teaching, I enjoy travelling, reading, running and figure skating.

About the lesson

I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual goals, whether that means strengthening their understanding of course content, improving essay writing and exam technique, or working towards a top grade.

My approach is interactive and discussion-based. I want students to leave lessons increasingly able to approach unfamiliar questions independently.

For English and History, lessons might involve analysing texts or sources, planning essays, improving existing written work and working through past-paper questions. For Economics, I can help students strengthen their understanding of key concepts, apply theory to real-world examples and develop well-structured evaluation for essays and exam responses.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I am happy to adapt this depending on the student’s age and needs. I can also review essays or other work in advance so that lesson time can be used efficiently for detailed feedback and improvement.

I particularly welcome IB students studying English A Literature, History or Economics, as well as GCSE and MYP students. I am happy to work with students across a range of abilities, from those who need help building their foundations to high-achieving students aiming for top grades.
