About Shelmith
I'm originally from Nairobi, Kenya I'm Active Freelance Dancer, here in Bergen. is i.a. participated in ''Fargespill''' bergen, worked as an aprentice dancer at western dance theater. Has worked with esc ung-contemporary dance company, (choreographers such as Daniel Priotte And Alan Lucien), and The National Theater. Has participated in Norwegian talents 2017 with his own choreography and attended langhaugen dans vgs. Right now I am taking a year off while I work on small different projects in Bergen and soon Oslo. But also have a lot of time on me now that I spend on sharing my dancing joy

In my teaching, I use both the theatrical experience that I have from before, and have it into the dance, for example text (how can we create a choreography for text) and some other fun exercises. I want my students to understand that dance can be taken much further and is not just the videos we watch on tiktok or ballet and jazz that are just dance. It's much more than that. So I want to use i.a. various methods such as "everyday movements" and things we do in everyday life to create it into the dance. I will warm up, give some open assignments, create choreography with the students and relaxation and stretching at the end. We give everything from simple movements to initially challenging them a little after a while.
