I am a Concurrent Education student specializing in primary / junior grades. I have gained practical teaching experience over the past three years in Ottawa ON, and Kingston, ON. In my undergrad, I am studying Languages, Literature, and Cultures, with a focus in Indigenous Studies and French Studies.

All of my teaching methods are catered to the student’s needs and levels. A few teaching methodologies I use in ESL instruction include Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Task-based language learning and Audio-lingual learning. My lessons are often structured beginning with a warm-up, then a review from the last session to refresh the student’s memory, followed by the new lesson and material, and finally the application of the new material. I often provide engaging activities to be completed between tutoring sessions so the student can continue to practice and apply the concepts learned in the session.
I approach second language learning with delicacy. As a second language learner myself (in French), I understand that learning a new language can be challenging and sometimes stressful. Seeing this, I always encourage students to challenge themselves, however, the lessons will never reach outside of the students' comfort zones. Furthermore, I will never forget that with a language, comes a thriving culture. This aspect will be incorporated into every lesson, as learning a language requires applying it a particular context while understanding the cultural customs.
