About Pooja
Hello and welcome! I am a certified British Columbia educator holding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), with over 8 years of teaching experience across classroom settings and personalized one-on-one tutoring.
Having studied science and pedagogy in depth, I know that children are natural scientists—they are inherently curious about how the world works. However, when science is presented only as heavy definitions, textbooks, and memorization, that natural excitement can quickly turn into anxiety or disinterest. My mission is to rekindle that curiosity.
What Drives My Teaching Approach:
Patience & Active Listening: Every student processes ideas differently. I take the time to discover how your child thinks, adapting my explanations until the concept truly clicks.
A Safe Space to Explore: Science thrives on questions and hypotheses. In my sessions, there are no "wrong" questions—every inquiry is a doorway to deeper understanding.
Relatable Learning: I bridge the gap between abstract textbook formulas and the child’s everyday environment, making science tangible and fun.
Whether your child needs help catching up on class material, preparing for upcoming exams, or simply wants an encouraging mentor to explore STEM subjects with enthusiasm, I am committed to supporting their academic growth every step of the way.

Does science feel like memorizing dry facts from a textbook? I turn everyday science into an engaging, interactive adventure! Aligned with the British Columbia curriculum, my lessons connect complex concepts to the real world so students genuinely understand how and why things work.
What We Explore:
Life & Living Systems: Cells, plant and human biology, ecosystems, and animal habitats.
Matter & Everyday Chemistry: States of matter, mixtures, solutions, atoms, and fun, safe kitchen-science demonstrations.
Forces, Energy & Earth Systems: Light, sound, simple machines, weather, and environmental science.
School Support: Homework assistance, test preparation, inquiry projects, and filling foundational learning gaps.
How I Teach:
Real-World Connections: Using visual models, analogies, and quizzes instead of monotonous lectures.
Step-by-Step Pacing: Breaking down tough terminology into simple, memorable language.
Low-Stress & Encouraging: A positive space where questions are always welcomed and mistakes are treated as learning steps.
The first introductory session is complimentary to meet your child, understand their learning goals, and design a personalized plan!
