About Adrian
I take a friendly, personable approach with my students, treating them as equals. I am patient, genial and nurturing.
I have two teaching qualifications, a master’s degree in journalism, an honour’s degree in English literature from a London university and I worked as a journalist and editor for many years, before switching to teaching.
The most important thing to me about teaching is helping people to better themselves, by giving them skills to enhance their life prospects. In a world where borders are closing, English can be a lingua franca, which improves cultural understanding across a language divide.

My training and experience in class, tends to focus on "Situational Language Teaching". Basically, I explain the language to be learned and create safe situations for you to practice it, under my supervision. The goal for you is to effectively communicate in English, without too much emphasis on grammar or pedagogy.
However, I am guided by the student's needs and desires and will adopt a theoretical approach (essentially me teaching!) where appropriate.
Although my experience is working with teenagers and adults, I welcome younger learners also.
