About Raya
My fascination with chemistry stems from a lifelong curiosity about how the world is built and how substances interact. Over the past seven years, I have dedicated myself to both learning and teaching chemistry, striving to make it accessible, engaging, and intellectually stimulating. Teaching chemistry allows me to combine knowledge, practical application, and inspiration, helping students connect theory to reality. I prioritise patience, clarity, and personalisation in my teaching. Each student approaches chemistry differently, and I adapt lessons to suit their learning style, encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and independent thinking. I emphasise real-life examples and hands-on exploration, ensuring students gain both understanding and confidence in their abilities. Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with scientific research, laboratory practices, and emerging developments in chemistry. I continue to explore new approaches, refine my pedagogy, and maintain practical skills, ensuring that students receive both accurate knowledge and meaningful, inspiring instruction. For me, chemistry is more than a subject—it is a way of understanding the universe, and helping students embrace this perspective is immensely rewarding.

Chemistry is the study of matter, its properties, and the reactions that govern the world around us. In my lessons, I aim to make chemistry approachable, engaging, and meaningful. I focus on developing conceptual understanding alongside practical skills, emphasising how chemical principles apply to real-world phenomena. Each lesson is structured to encourage curiosity, inquiry, and observation, helping students connect abstract concepts to tangible examples in their daily lives. The classroom is a space where questions are welcomed and learning is interactive, ensuring that students gain both knowledge and confidence. Beginners explore atoms, elements, compounds, and simple reactions, learning foundational terminology and techniques. Intermediate learners study stoichiometry, chemical bonding, acids and bases, and energy changes in reactions, while developing lab skills and analytical thinking. Advanced students dive into organic chemistry, equilibrium, kinetics, electrochemistry, and advanced problem-solving techniques. I also provide guidance on laboratory exercises, assignments, exam preparation, and experimental design, helping students apply theoretical knowledge practically and accurately. As students progress, they gain more than knowledge—they develop critical thinking, precision, and scientific curiosity. Chemistry becomes a lens through which they can understand the physical world, analyse outcomes, and evaluate evidence. My goal is for students to leave each lesson confident, inquisitive, and capable of thinking like scientists, equipped with skills that extend beyond the classroom.
