About Dahlia
Hi, I'm Dahlia! Chemistry became my greatest passion in high school when my teacher explained that food chemistry is the science behind why certain foods taste, smell, and feel exactly the way they do — and I realized I had been experiencing chemistry every single meal of my life without ever knowing it. That moment of connection completely changed how I saw the world around me. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education (B.S.) from Florida State University, where I studied advanced chemistry including organic chemistry, biochemistry, electrochemistry, food chemistry, and industrial chemistry alongside science education, graduating with academic honors. With 6 years of experience, I have worked with over 295 happy students from middle school through college first year. Most of my AP Chemistry students earned scores of 4 or 5 and walked away with valuable college credit. I was honored with the Science Education Excellence Award by the Florida Science Teachers Association for making chemistry genuinely exciting and completely understandable for students who previously felt totally overwhelmed and defeated by the subject. My lessons always connect every single concept to real everyday and industrial life first — because chemistry that lives in the real world is chemistry that students truly understand and never forget.
