About Elissa
I am currently a 3rd year student at the Australian National University studying a Bachelor of Visual Art, I previously studied at the Australian Institute of Music.
I have been teaching piano privately in Canberra for 4 years with successful results in teaching students to read music, perform, achieve AMEB grading, and learn music theory.

After an initial lesson with new students to assess their level, I advise parents of which lesson book to buy. for more advanced students, I select pieces of music for them to work on that I think will allow them to explore and grow as musicians.
I also give musicianship homework so their theoretical knowledge can enrich their practical skills and explain theory during each lesson.
I have a patient approach and believe all students are capable of success but am also sensitive to the learning process and make the most of our time, encouraging as much progress as possible.
I aim for self discipline and autonomy in my students.
