About Clara

I hold a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University and completed postdoctoral research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, so you can trust that I know the material at a deep, real level. I currently tutor chemistry, biology, and anatomy and physiology, and previously worked as a teaching assistant at Columbia, leading a problem-solving section for undergraduate and graduate students. Beyond credentials, I am reliable, prepared, and easy to communicate with. I co-founded a nonprofit in New York City, where I managed budgets and trained volunteers, so consistency and follow-through are second nature to me. You can count on me to show up ready for every session and to genuinely invest in your progress, not just get through the material.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around you, not a script. I hold a Ph.D. from Columbia University and completed postdoctoral research at Mount Sinai, so I bring real depth in chemistry, biology, and physics. But what matters most to me is figuring out how you learn best and explaining ideas in whatever way actually makes them click, whether that means slowing down, using a different analogy, or working through extra practice problems together. I am patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress, and I often help students beyond the material itself, from study strategies to scholarship guidance. Whether you are catching up, building confidence, or aiming for an advanced grade, I meet you exactly where you are and help you move forward from there.
