About Holly
I am currently studying English Literature and Language at Newcastle University. In my GCSEs I gained a grade 9 in English Literature and a grade 8 in English Language which inspired me to go on to study both subjects at A-Level. Throughout my time at Sixth Form I achieved a B in English Literature, having begun first year at a D, and an A in English Language. Simultaneously, it was at college I did a year of GCSE tutoring in which I had five students weekly and would take them over exam technique, amongst other things, and all of them passed with a grade five or above.

I am a passionate and dedicated GCSE English Literature and Language tutor with extensive experience helping students build confidence and achieve higher grades. I specialise in developing analytical writing, essay structure, and exam strategies, tailoring each lesson to suit individual learning styles. My teaching philosophy focuses on making English engaging, encouraging students to think critically, and helping them express ideas clearly and creatively. I have supported a wide range of learners, including those aiming for top grades and students needing extra support. What makes me unique is my ability to simplify complex concepts, boost exam performance, and inspire a genuine appreciation for literature and language.
