One of our best tutors. Quality profile, experience in their field, verified qualifications and a great response time. Mara will be happy to arrange your first Basic Computer lesson.

About Mara

I'm a patient and friendly technology tutor with a background in software development and years of experience teaching technology to adults and children.

I especially enjoy helping seniors and beginners feel more confident with computers and everyday technology. I know that technology can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I explain things clearly, step by step, without technical jargon or pressure.

My lessons are relaxed, practical, and always adapted to your pace and what you actually want to learn.

About the lesson

My goal is to make technology feel simple, useful, and less overwhelming. No stress, no jargon — just patient, step-by-step help.

I specialize in helping adults and seniors feel more confident using computers and everyday technology. Whether you want to organize your files, send emails and attachments, use Zoom, understand your Mac or Windows computer, manage photos, use Google Drive, or learn how tools like ChatGPT can help you in everyday life, we can work on what matters to you.

My Teaching Method

Every lesson is adapted to your pace, needs, and interests. I explain things in plain English or Spanish and use screen sharing so we can work together directly on the things you want to learn.

You are always welcome to ask questions, repeat something, or go over a topic again. There is no pressure to learn quickly.

A Typical Lesson Includes:

- A quick review of what we covered last time
- Hands-on practice using your own computer
- Help with real tasks you want to accomplish
- Plenty of time for questions and repetition
- An optional simple task to practice between lessons

I can also prepare simple visual guides that you can keep and use after the lesson.

You don't need to be "good with technology" to start. We begin with what you already know and build your confidence from there.

Excellent! Patience! I was not remembering well and became flustered by the time pressure. I need to define smaller goals for each session and prepare more broadly for them. Perhaps I will need someone with me to get me out of trouble when I mistakenly break connections with the tutor. Let’s try again, 8:30 next Monday and I will try to write you some memos regarding our agenda. Please thank Mara for her patience!

Perfect! Mara is very patient and very knowledgeable on the Mac platform that I happen to be using. I’m in no way techie when it comes to computers and I made some mistakes with my storage resources on my laptop and Mara is helping me to get past that and get back on track on a scale of one to 10 to judge her services. I would give her a 12 she’s amazing and I’m looking forward to the next appointment with her because in just a few minutes we covered so much in such a quick and fast time thank you Mara keep up the good work. I appreciate all your knowledge and expertise.

Mara is amazing teacher! I am so happy I found her for my kids! At first my daughter was studying with her and later my son. My kids are very different, but Mara easily found the way to make them feel comfortable, free to speak with her, she managed to make them be really interested and excited in things they were learning, so they were waiting every next class! She is just the perfect tescher every parent wants to find for their kid!

Mara has been an incredible teacher for both of my children. She quickly understood their different personalities and learning styles, and adapted her lessons to each of them. They not only learn, they enjoy learning with her. It's rare to find a teacher who combines warmth, structure, and results like she does.
