About Rhydian
I’m a conservatoire-trained trombonist working as a freelance musician, and I’ve been lucky to have had fantastic tuition growing up that really shaped both my playing and my confidence. That experience is a big part of why I want to teach now—I’d like to give others the same kind of supportive, inspiring learning environment that I benefited from. I enjoy helping students get comfortable with the instrument, whether they’re complete beginners or developing players, and I aim to keep lessons relaxed, encouraging, and tailored to each individual so they can enjoy the process while making steady progress.

My teaching focuses on building a solid musical foundation alongside developing strong, reliable instrumental technique, including sound production, breathing, posture, and musical awareness. Lessons are always tailored to the individual, whether that’s a beginner taking first steps on the instrument, a student working through ABRSM grades, or someone looking to improve general musicianship or ensemble skills. I aim to balance structured technical development with enjoyable, musical playing, using pieces and exercises that suit each student’s goals. Lessons are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on age and level, and I teach beginner to advanced students of all ages, from children to adult learners.
