I plan to teach Language Arts to grades 6-12. First, I assess the student's understanding to determine what level of instruction is needed. Next, I determine the best instruction style for the student (visual, auditory, etc.). Students learn best when they are supported in a meaningful way! Finally, I determine what level of comprehension the student needs to succeed. From there, the student and I work together.

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Lisa Rehfield as a tutor for SuperProf. I had the privilege of training alongside Lisa in the middle school-focused teaching credential program at California State University, San Marcos, and our professional journey continued as we worked together during our initial years as English teachers.
Lisa's dedication and passion for education have always been evident, making her an exceptional candidate for the role of a SuperProf tutor. Her experience with secondary-aged children is extensive, having become credentialed to teach that age range, substituted, and focused her student-teaching in that setting. Lisa's previous roles as an outdoor camp counselor in Atascadero, an Exploratory Learning Liaison for a private school in North Carolina, and her current position as a STEAM educator at the MOXI museum in Santa Barbara showcase her impeccable ability to transfer learning across various age groups, from elementary through high school.
What sets Lisa apart is her unique ability to connect with students profoundly, bringing a blend of enthusiasm, attentiveness, and engagement. Her clear articulation and use of real-life examples enhance her students' comprehension. I personally witnessed this during our collaborative development of multi-content/subject units for students in our credential program, where she effectively conveyed complex scientific processes. In addition to making learning enjoyable and accessible, Lisa possesses the technical skills necessary for delivering high-quality education. Her proficiency extends beyond verbal communication to precise, articulate, and well-thought-out written delivery of technical concepts as well.
On a personal level, Lisa's passion for English is evident in her ability to weave complex sentences and verbiage in witty and entertaining ways. Her love for reading and writing, combined with her creativity, enables her to engage students through various mediums, from picture books to movie plots.
In her current role, Lisa has successfully managed challenges related to developing STEAM-related learning center exhibits and addressing technical hurdles in teaching her team about emerging science curriculum. Her stories of learning new machines and platforms to enhance learning centers showcase her versatility in teaching a variety of subjects and content areas and her drive and commitment to success.
Lisa consistently maintains exceptional professionalism, upholding high standards in all aspects of her work and training. She is reflective and proactive in improving dynamics with teammates, students, and coworkers, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
I am confident that Lisa's skills and dedication make her an ideal candidate for a tutor position with SuperProf, and any student fortunate enough to learn from her would undoubtedly benefit from her wisdom and enthusiasm for education.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information. I am more than happy to provide additional insights into Lisa's qualifications and capabilities.View more recommendations
