About Sierrena
I'm a reading and English teacher who has worked with students just like you for many years — from kindergartners learning their very first letters all the way to high schoolers preparing for exams. I went to school to study exactly how people learn to read, and I've spent my career figuring out the best ways to make it actually make sense — even when it feels hard or frustrating.

Phonics, phonemic awareness, and structured literacy are backed by decades of research, and I've seen their results every day in real classrooms. Students with dyslexia, English language learners, kids with IEPs, advanced readers — I've taught them all. I know how to adapt and I know what works for each learning style. I'm a teacher, not just a tutor. With a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction and years in K–12 classrooms, I understand how students develop as readers!
