From the day I begun learning up to the present, I never understood a subject or subject matter without understanding the basics or the basic idea and as a student I that my teachers don't really explain the basics/basic idea, so my method is for you to understand the basics, basic idea,real life applications as simple as it can be, with the addition of learning with already existing knowledge.
