About Mark Lorenz
Hello! I’m Mark Lorenz, a Grade 12 HUMSS student and an active student leader with a strong interest in education and helping other students learn. I have experience assisting classmates and younger students with their lessons, as well as taking part in academic and school-based activities.
As a tutor, I believe that every student can learn when a lesson is explained in a way that works for them. I am patient, approachable, and willing to take the time to explain topics step by step. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because I believe these are important parts of learning.
Whether you need help understanding a difficult lesson, reviewing for an assessment, completing academic tasks, or simply becoming more confident in a subject, I will do my best to provide clear and personalized guidance.
My goal as your tutor is not simply to give you the answer, but to help you understand how to arrive at it yourself. I look forward to learning with you!

My approach as a tutor is simple: I want students to understand the lesson, not just memorize the answer. I use clear explanations, examples, guided practice, and questions that encourage students to think for themselves. I also adjust my teaching style depending on the student's level, learning pace, and areas where they need more help.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what the student already knows, followed by an explanation of the topic in simple terms. We then work through examples together before giving the student a chance to answer independently. I also leave time for questions, corrections, and a short recap so the student knows what they have learned.
What sets me apart is that I understand what it is like to be a student who sometimes struggles with complicated lessons. I try to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. As a student myself, I aim to make lessons relatable, practical, and easy to understand.
My lessons are mainly for elementary and junior/senior high school students who need help with their academic subjects, homework, reviewing lessons, preparing for assessments, or simply building more confidence in their studies.
My goal is simple: make learning clearer, less intimidating, and more enjoyable for every student.
