About Serena

With 6 years of tutoring experience and more than 150–200 students taught, I am proud to help learners explore the world of piano in a simple, comfortable, and encouraging way. I teach high school and college students, as well as elderly learners who want to reconnect with music or enjoy a new hobby. My passion for education comes from a love for seeing students grow—not only as musicians, but also as confident and creative people. One of the biggest milestones in my career has been guiding students through their first performances and exams, and watching them succeed with joy and pride.

I believe that every student deserves patient guidance, clear explanations, and a relaxed learning environment. My goal is to make piano enjoyable for all ages and to give students the skills they need to play the music they love. Helping people discover their musical voice continues to inspire me every day.

About the lesson

I teach piano using a mix of real-world examples, motivation, and simple explanations. When students understand how music connects to daily life, concepts like chords, timing, and expression become easier to learn. I often use small case studies to help students understand why certain techniques matter. Motivation is central to my lessons. I make sure students feel supported and encouraged. We celebrate progress, build confidence, and stay patient through challenges. Problem-solving helps students grow faster. I teach learners how to break difficult pieces into steps, identify common patterns, and use practice strategies that make improvement easier. This helps students become independent and creative thinkers.

I value integrity and clear communication. Students always receive honest guidance in a respectful way. I am also flexible—I design lessons based on each student’s goals, whether they want classical training, pop music skills, or a stronger theory foundation. I can also teach subjects like theory, sight-reading, and beginner composition using the same student-centred method.
