About Helen
I have worked in Further Education supporting young people and adults with a range of needs and abilities for 20 years, and managed support teams for at least 10 of those. I have represented FE on the NATSPEC Committee for Assistive Technology and I am currently working towards Microsoft Educators Awards. I have provided support and advocacy to a range of individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities. My qualifications include: L7 CP3TA Assessment Qualification, BA (Hons) Education, OCR Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/SpLD, British Sign Language Level 2.

I work with young people and adults to support them with literacy and numeracy and finding the right strategies. I support with: • improving reading and writing • writing and proof-reading job applications and CVs • learning to use technology in daily life • functional maths I also advise employers on accessibility issues and reasonable adjustments, and advocate for parents of young people with additional needs.
