About LYNDSAY
Hi! I am a highly trained, qualified and experienced teacher and tutor with more than 25 years experience of working with children and young adults who may be SEND, SEMH, complex needs and out of education. Over many years of working, I have developed a completely different way to re-engage children with education. I am Director of Supporting Children LTD and we are innovative in our approach. I work with children and young adults from age 5 to 25 years old.
Sessions vary in length according to the child but typically last 1-4 hours, building in length as the child's confidence grows. I use new experiences in outdoor places (preferably green spaces like National Trust gardens as well as other public places) to support the child in building their self-confidence, self-esteem, self-respect and self-worth while teaching communication skills and coping strategies under the radar. All tuition is bespoke, child-led and tailored to the individual needs.
I am qualified in Mental Health First Aid and both Emergency first Aid and Paediatric First Aid. I have completed training in many areas including Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Suicide Prevention for children and young people, Voice & Lived Experience of the Child, Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and Perpetration of Sexual Harm, Understanding Child Sexual Abuse and SARC, Responding to concerns about young people who Self Harm, Prevent Awareness, Domestic Abuse, Child Criminal and Sexual Exploitation, Professional Curiosity & Challenge plus other training in communication, reporting and recording.
