About Erica
I have been working with children for 10 years with special needs. I have five years of teaching experience. I’m trained under a reading specialist in the school. I have a bachelor's degree from Queens College in English and a minor in journalism. I have experience reading and writing for local newspapers as well as things for school.

I use multi sensory approaches with students to support their decoding such as student manipulative boards and tapping strategies. I work on highlighting strategies to support students in reading comprehension and use graphic organizers as well. Past students have shown improvement in reading through homework and independent readings.
