About Joalissa
Learning is not a "one size fits all." As your tutor, I have the opportunity to understand the ways in which you process information best, and tailor your subject learning sessions through your interests and learning styles. Whether your passion is painting, soccer, dancing, video games, and/or more, I will help you find ways to incorporate the things that are meaningful to you into the lessons you learn, so that you can feel just as confident in the classroom as you do outside of it.

While subject content is important when teaching, the foundation of it lies in creating meaningful connections between the student and the content.
Before and during the implementation of my lesson plans, I use a variety of Universal Design for Learning techniques to understand my students' personalities and learning styles.
I then tailor my lesson plans to my students' interests and align those interests with the subject content (e.g: the use of music, games, books, poems, videos, podcasts, comics, crafts, etc.)
My goal as an educator is not only to improve student academic performance, but to inspire an innate sense of curiosity to understand the information that surrounds them.
