About Sidney
I am currently a graduate student going into my second and final year getting an M.A. in Women's History. I graduated in 2019 from UC Davis with degrees in English with Critical Literary Theory and Poetry as well as Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. I also nannied all through college; therefore, I am comfortable and enjoy helping younger kids learn to read and write. However, I am also a senior editor for a university publication platform and am also well versed in college level writing and literacy.

When working with individuals who may struggle with reading and/or writing, I find that searching for a new way to approach the subject can challenge and encourage young scholars. Working with literature on all levels can be confusing, whether it be tricky grammar rules or uncertainty when interpreting the theme of a text, patience is absolute key. I enjoy engaging students in critical thinking skills when it comes to reading and writing, not only because good grades are important, but because literacy is critical for success in the post-academic world.
