About Ewan
My teaching experience in general is very considerable. I qualified as a teacher through the Graduate Teacher Programme with an 'Outstanding' grade. I have taught all levels from 11+ to Pre-university courses, with a decade of KS3, GCSE, A-Level and IB teaching. I have also taught in types of school, maintained and independent, co-ed and single sex, selective and mixed ability. My experience ranges from classes of boys with severe dyslexia who have never read a book to pupils with straight A* profiles and I have enjoyed helping all pupils. All of this experience feeds into my tutoring, but in addition to this I have also tutored peripatetically since I was an undergraduate. My tutoring has been a very varied but I have often experienced working with pupils who have english as a second language, who have struggled in traditional schooling and sometimes who have come from care contexts. I have also spent several summers working on prgrammes for high achieving children seeking to be stretched as they apply for elite universities.
With regard to my experience, I would also note that I have a particularly specialist knowledge of entry exams at both ends of secondary education. I have written English entrance exams for 11+ and 13+ for three schools inside the UK top 20. I have also successfully mentored over fifty pupils who have achieved Oxbridge places, including guiding them through the ELAT exams.

I offer classes for all secondary level pupils from 11+ to university entrance tests such as ELAT. I specialise in the 11-18 age range. I have particular expertise in KS3, GCSE and A-Level.
Lessons will be devised around specific pupils targets and with a bespoke plan about how to help them achieve their goals. I would describe my approach as friendly, positive and want pupils to enjoy their learning.
