About Madi

I am an English Literature student at Exeter University. My greatest dream in life is to be an innovative and inspiring teacher who enables students to know their value as a person and achieve their goals. I can truly say I cannot see myself doing any other career than teaching. I have plenty of experience, ranging all the way from the very youngest Early Years all the way up to 18 years old.

Before university, I was a 1:1 SEN teaching assistant in a wonderful primary school and I loved it! This gave me experience and strategies of working with children with special educational needs. I planned and delivered a unique, tailored curriculum, taught children to read and write and worked on instilling them with a love for learning. It taught me that no child is the same and the most important thing is to get to know them as a person and what works best for them. While I was there I also achieved my Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, which, along with spending months in a primary school with socioeconomic challenges, gave me an understanding of the education system and how to help children develop and succeed within it.

I love the flexibility that private tutoring brings to be able to specifically target a student’s areas of weakness and make them a strength! Since beginning university, I’ve dived into as many teaching opportunities as I can alongside my degree, including being a teaching assistant with the university’s primary enrichment programme, volunteering as a reading mentor at a local primary school in Exeter, and privately tutoring a college student.

I’ve got availability to take on more tutees in my schedule, and I would love for you or your child to be one of them! I also have a current DBS check, so you can be assured of you or your child’s safety during our sessions. I look forward to hearing from you :)

About the lesson

I am adaptable, happy to work around your schedule and personal learning goals. I’m not afraid of last minute changes. I’m passionate about empowering students to learn the skills they need to enable them to conquer life, not just exams. I want to teach you to be able to evaluate yourself, your learning and put what you hear into practice. I’m a natural mentor and I believe the most important thing is that tutoring sessions give you joy. I want you to go away feeling reenergised, having had that ‘ahhh’ moment of finally getting to grips with something that challenges you. I want those who feel low about their education to have hope again.
