About Katie
I have recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a high First Class Honours in BA English Language and Linguistics. I was awarded the Moore Smith English Prize alongside my degree for best degree result in the university and I am currently in the top 1% of the UK for my subject beating students from Oxbridge. I come from a low-income background having attended public schools all my life and so I’d love to help all students in need, particularly those who are from a similar background to myself.

I tailor my teaching to the needs of the student. I adopt a communicative approach when tutoring, using the student’s ideas as a starting point for discussion and then building upon these original ideas to instil the student with confidence that they can replicate this structure in a formal assessment scenario. I provide students with a key structure to tackle any exam question they may face.
