About Daphné

Very shy and introverted at the age of 17, I decided to take risks and moved to the United States, far from everything I knew. 10 years later, after traveling in several English-speaking countries such as Canada and Ireland, I am back in my native country to share my passion for the English language and its cultures! (--with less shyness!)
Having myself been in difficult situations due to my level of English at the beginning of my learning years, I make sure that my classes are spaces where my students feel confident to express themselves freely in English and overcome their shyness.
If my 4 years of teaching abroad and to different audiences have taught me anything, it is that learning of a language can only take place if one is interested and stimulated. That's why I always make sure to motivate my students as much as possible by offering them courses that go directly to their interests and that are fun!

About the lesson

Speaking a foreign language involves for many (and me the first) taking risks and getting out of your comfort zone, which is why I make sure that my classes are a space in which people feel comfortable being able to express themselves freely and learn English while having fun.

Big fan of pop culture (Movies, series, music, K-pop, anime, ...) and loving to keep informed about the topicality, I try as much as possible to incorporate its elements into my lessons to make them more interesting and stimulating.

Having learned foreign languages myself and through my years of experience as a teacher, j I have found that incorporating games into my lessons helps greatly in language learning. This is why games and fun activities have an important place in my lessons.

Finally, I have lived in the United States, Canada and Ireland and have worked for many years alongside people from the United Kingdom, so my English accent and my vocabulary are a mix of all these countries. This is why I can give a lot of support and help with English pronunciation which may seem - or be - very difficult for some.

For me, learning English is something that should be fun and enjoyable and I do everything to make my classes so! (Whether in Visio on Zoom or face to face). Do not hesitate to write to me if you are interested or if you have any questions !!
