My teaching method is Socratic and goal-orientated.
I set a clear learning objective, tailored to the student's needs and aims, at the top of each lesson. This is done so that the student is aware of what is expected of them. This allows them to relax and focus. I often break the learning objective down into mini-goals, providing the student a straightforward ladder to achievement.
Productive dialogue is at the heart of my teaching method. I love to share knowledge but a tutoring session is not meant to be a lecture. The 1-to-1 format is best used to stimulate critical thinking and to reveal ideas and thought processes. This is achieved by asking and answering questions.
I offer tuition in English Literature and English Language at GCSE and A Level, as well as English-skills at KS2 and KS3.
