About Andrew
Hi! I’m a college graduate with over 15 years of experience helping students understand and enjoy learning. While I’ve taught many subjects over the years and even published three books, numbers have always been my true passion and strength.
Ever since I was young, I’ve had a natural gift for working with numbers. I’ve always been drawn to patterns, puzzles, and the hidden connections inside equations. Every day, I challenge myself with math games like cryptarithms, Sudoku, and math crosswords. These daily habits keep my mind sharp and fuel my love for problem-solving.
What I love most about math is that it doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating. I’ve spent years breaking down difficult equations into simple, clear steps that anyone can follow. Over time, I’ve developed an easy-to-adapt way of explaining concepts so they actually stick, whether it’s basic arithmetic, tricky algebra, or advanced word problems.
My goal as a tutor is not just to teach math but to help my students see it the way I do, as a fun, rewarding puzzle anyone can learn to solve. I believe that once you understand the “why” behind the numbers, confidence grows naturally.
Every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style to match each person’s pace and strengths. Whether you learn best through visual examples, step-by-step practice, or hands-on problem solving, I’ll find the approach that works best for you.
When I’m not tutoring, you’ll usually find me with a pencil in hand, solving a cryptic puzzle, scribbling out new math games, or exploring fresh ways to explain tough ideas. Helping others discover that math can actually be enjoyable is what keeps me motivated every day.
If you’re ready to tackle math with a tutor who genuinely loves it, and knows how to make it click, I’d love to work with you. Let’s turn those numbers and equations into something you can handle with confidence!

When you join one of my math lessons, you won’t just sit and listen, you’ll think, explore, and discover the best way that you learn to solve problems.
Each session begins with a clear goal. Maybe we’re tackling a tricky algebra problem, figuring out fractions, or cracking a word problem. First, I’ll break down the concept in a way that makes sense, no confusing jargon or rushing ahead. I always explain why we do each step, not just how to do it.
Then, I encourage you to try it yourself. I believe that real learning happens when you actively work through the problem, not just watch someone else solve it. I’ll guide you as you test different strategies and approaches. If you get stuck, I won’t just jump in with the answer, I’ll ask questions that help you think it through.
One thing that makes my lessons different is that I don’t believe in only one way to get the answer. I know every student’s mind works a bit differently. Some prefer step-by-step logic. Others see shortcuts or patterns that save time. I give you the space to experiment with different methods so you find the one that clicks for you.
For example, if we’re solving an equation, I might show you two or three ways to reach the solution. We’ll talk through the pros and cons of each one. Maybe you’ll come up with a fourth way that works even better for you, and that’s fantastic! That’s how real math thinking develops.
Throughout each lesson, I use puzzles and fun practice problems to keep things fresh. We might work through a cryptarithm or a logic puzzle to strengthen your reasoning skills alongside the usual homework. These exercises train your mind to see patterns and think flexibly, which makes math feel more like an interesting game than a chore.
By the end of every lesson, my goal is that you understand why the answer works, not just what it is. You’ll leave each session knowing you can tackle similar problems on your own with more confidence and less stress.
My students often tell me they feel proud of how they learn to reason for themselves, rather than just memorizing a single method. And that’s exactly what I want, to help you grow into a strong, independent problem-solver who isn’t afraid of numbers anymore.
