About Nikita
I am a Civil Engineer, worked for heavy civil infrastructures like railways (Metro Construction) and tunnels (Hydro Power Plant). I also worked with NGOs like Conserve and Environmental Foundation for generating awareness about various methods of waste management like recycling, composting and Integrated Waste Management Strategy (IWMS). I have been teaching Environmental Science for the past 6 years. Currently, I am studying MSc Civil Engineering specialization in Geoenvironment and Project Management.

My aim is to allow students to develop an understanding of the process involved with the management of primarily waste, i.e. covering storage, collection, various treatment methods, and ultimately disposal. Students will also gain knowledge of the regulation associated with such wastes, and the roles of the various agencies like SEPA, EA, DEFRA and Zero Waste Scotland involved in the processes. The class will equip you with the skill and knowledge in areas such as conservation, sustainability and environmental research. I believe that change begins at home, which is why in order to understand the environmental processes and cycle, it is important to learn how to manage the waste generated by humans in the long run, it is the first step to protect the environment.
