About Tara
I have worked for over ten years as a tutor to a variety of global learners. I am currently living in Vancouver and teach high school students literature study, reading, and writing at private language institutes. Students include a large language base of Chinese learners and other international students. Some classes are online and overseas. I teach test preparation for SSAT, SAT, IELTS, and other academic-based performance tests as well as conversation for everyday practice. I have also been working as a tutor with a private language school for French-speaking Canadian government employees for the last six years using an online platform. Lessons are focused on test preparation for intermediate to advanced level learners in speaking and writing. I am a professional ghostwriter, plan and develop academic textbooks for writing courses for intermediate to advanced level learners. Further background includes living and teaching English in Japan for one year at a top language school. I lived for over five years in Brazil where I taught ESL for Business professionals and private students. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Teaching Approach have the skills to develop lessons for any level of learner and create a study plan for your specific needs, offering creative and engaging classes. Lessons usually include task-based teaching strategies and focus on the use of authentic language with target vocabulary and expressions.
