About Hugo
I am currently an undergraduate student at Durham, studying liberal arts. I achieved 3A*s in my A-Level examinations in Geography, English Literature and Spanish. I achieved nine Grade 9s, One Grade 8 and One A* in my GCSEs.
I have had many experiences tutoring, ranging from my time as a Mandarin tutor at the Oakwood Learning Centre, to assisting primary school children in St Albans with their English and literacy skills.
I am able to speak fluent English and Mandarin- both to a native level, and am currently at B1 level on the DELE Spanish Fluency metric.
I have always enjoyed teaching, gaining immense satisfaction from the process of helping others improve and helping them develop their passions.

I have been an English student since I was 5 and now study it at undergraduate level in a liberal arts degree.
I am able to teach any level of English up to A- Level (A-Level English Literature only, not Language), whether it be a 10 year old preparing for their 11+ exams, or a 15 year old preparing for their exams.
I am able to teach reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and also offer proofreading services for a variety of topics.
In terms of teaching techniques, I am able to adapt to the needs to each and every student. I have had some students who prefer a more rigid and structured set of lessons, whilst some students prefer a more relaxed and spontaneous format. Some lessons a student may prefer to go past papers, exam technique and deep in-depth analysis, whilst other lessons may simply be a case of helping them understand a piece of homework that they have been set.
I offer lessons ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, giving students the opportunity to choose the lesson length right for them, and allowing me to help them develop their passion for English.
