About Alison
I have over a decade teaching high school English courses. I have taught grades 9-12, but specialize in teaching AP English courses. I also have extensive experience as a professional writer, having worked many years as an editorial manager for Fortune 500 companies before becoming an educator. My goal is to help students develop their critical thinking skills and their ability to communicate in writing effectively. I hold a master's in teaching and a master's in creative writing, as well as a bachelor's in communications.

Because I have taught second language learners my entire career, I have developed step-by-step processes to master AP content. I will provide clear and detailed instruction on the skills you need to master. You're also get lots of practice, which I will personally grade and offer customized feedback (I read all student writing and write my own commentary). My lessons are for AP Literature, AP Language and Composition, AP Seminar, and AP Research students. I will also work with second language learners who want to prep for AP English courses.
