About Chloe

Hi there, thanks for looking at my ad! I am a CELTA-qualified English Teacher and GTCS registered Secondary Mandarin Teacher. As an enthusiastic linguist, polyglot and lover of languages with a passion for language education, I speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin and have been learning French and Greek! I would love to help you thrive with learning English/Chinese, whether as an interest, or working towards exams!

About the lesson

• I have a BA degree in Linguistics and English Studies from the University of Hong Kong, plus a CELTA qualification for teaching English. I have also gained a PGDE (Secondary Mandarin) from the University of Aberdeen. I have been a private tutor for 10 years, and a classroom teacher of English/Mandarin for 6 years.
• I provide highly interactive and communicative language lessons, focusing on all 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). I choose topics that are of interest to my student(s), and build on prior learning.
• My tailor-made lessons are for all levels and ages! At the moment I teach mainly secondary school pupils, but I have also taught other age ranges, including young kids and adults.
• Typical length of a lesson: 1 hour to 1.5 hours

Chloe is an incredibly patient and kind person, and she helped me to build a strong foundation in Chinese. Her tutoring sessions are engaging, and she was always happy to explain if I was confused about grammar, sentence structure etc. I’m grateful for the sessions I had with her and they definitely helped me on my language learning journey!
