About Rhys
When I was in school I was in the choir and orchestra but was also in the rugby and football team. I know how difficult juggling extracurricular activities can be and that sometimes, music lessons can sometimes feel like a burden. My passion is in making music lessons fun and rewarding. Learning to play a wonderful instrument like the violin is a gift that should not be wasted. I love seeing students progress with smiles on their faces. My usual aim is to prepare students for Grades but I am happy to discuss different approaches. I achieved Grade 8 on the violin in 2010 and am happy to teach all levels.

I can tailor my teaching to your individual needs, but as well as getting results I like to make learning enjoyable. I have a wide range of teaching techniques and aids which help keep my students engaged and develop their playing. Typically my lessons will involve some crucial technical chores (scales!) which simply cannot be skipped. This allows the majority of the lesson to be dedicated to discovering new music to play and enjoy as the playing improves. I prefer 45 minute lessons but can also offer 30 or 60 minute lessons.
