About Julia
With over 15 years of experience teaching Geography and Humanities in leading international schools, I bring both deep subject knowledge and a proven record of student success. My qualifications include a Master’s in Protected Landscape Management, a Bachelor’s in Geography and Tourism, and a Bachelor of Education, giving me both academic expertise and professional training. I have taught students aged 11–18 across a range of levels, including exam preparation, and I am skilled at tailoring lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners. Students can feel confident that my lessons are engaging, well-structured, and designed to build both understanding and critical thinking skills. Beyond the classroom, I have led global initiatives, environmental projects, and overseas trips, which allow me to bring real-world perspectives into teaching. My teaching methodology is student-centred, combining clear instruction with inquiry-based learning and practical case studies to make Geography relevant and engaging. I use a range of techniques, including discussion, interactive technology, fieldwork activities, and collaborative projects, to ensure lessons are both stimulating and accessible. A typical lesson lasts between 50–60 minutes and is carefully structured to balance explanation, practice, and reflection, allowing students to build knowledge while developing critical thinking skills. With over 15 years’ experience teaching Geography and Humanities at international schools in Hong Kong, supported by degrees in Geography, Protected Landscape Management, and Education, I bring both subject expertise and classroom experience to my teaching. I have worked with students aged 11–18 across Key Stages 3–5, preparing them for public examinations as well as developing broader global awareness. My lessons are designed to suit the needs of diverse learners, from younger students building core geographical skills to older students tackling advanced concepts in preparation for higher education.
