About Don
I am a James Madison Fellow scholar who lives in Hawaii on the Big Island. I have been teaching for 37 years. My hobbies are fishing around the world and in my own backyard. I also love to hang out in the ocean snorkeling and taking a wave or two on my board. I recently have been teaching online to local students and like the flexible hours of working on my porch. I am open to private tutoring or groups.
I prefer secondary age students.

I believe in learning something everyday. Our world is a great resource to use current situations and look back into history to find solutions or lessons learned.
I have a certificate to teach AP US History and a B.A. in Psychology.
I received my Masters Degree in Education through the James Madison Fellowship program.
I like to combine lectures with video clips to get my lessons across to my students. Assignments are thought provoking and work on writing better essays. I am personable and like to have fun in class so students feel at home and can come to me with their own thoughts and questions.
