About Brie
Hi! My name is Brie McCracken, I have been assisting various students with their art endeavors for a couple years now and I would love to help you with yours! Whether you have a passion for visual art and just need a little guidance or you have a required course or two and art just doesn't quite click for you, I would love to give you the tools to achieve what success means to you. I took five years of various studio art courses culminating with being an AP Art student at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, TX. TCA is one of the strongest art schools in the metroplex, winning numerous awards through the Texas Visual Arts Association (TVAA), The Art of Architecture competition by Dallas AD EX, and the Young American Talent (YAT) put on by Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, amongst others. I am a proud alum of the National Art Honor Society and plan to pursue higher education in the visual arts field in the near future. I look forward to working with you and know we can work together to succeed!
After high school I moved out of state to live with family and was approached by a coworker to help them with their Art Theory/Art History course for their Criminal Justice Major. This was their second attempt at this course and they were needing guidance. I was able to not only help them pass, but end up with an A-, which they were ecstatic about. Since then I have enjoyed assisting various students at various education and experience levels get a firm grasp on artistic elements that may not come naturally to them.
I have a background of five years of various studio and theory/history courses at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, TX. This gave me an incredibly strong foundation to create my own original works in their AP Art program, and on my own afterwards.

I prefer to correspond a bit via email or text message to get a hold on what areas we are wanting to work on, as well as talk logistics beforehand. I then would like to meet up for a kind of consultation, either in person or via Zoom, to start getting to know the student and take a look at the actual material we are going to be working with. From then we can discuss and decide on a plan of action!
I feel it is important to find someone who is flexible not only with the material, but also with your personality. They have to be ready and willing to assess and compliment your learning style to best help you succeed.

Details
My first "getting-to-know-you" meeting where we just discuss logistics, the material, and the student is free of charge, and my rate for sessions is $25-$35/hr, depending on difficulty of the material and any commute that may be involved. If we decide on remote learning, then of course the rate would be lower than if I were to have to commute 30 minutes, for example.
