About Jessica Mae
My lessons combine modern dance techniques (Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey techniques), basic Ballet techniques (Cecchetti method), West African dance techniques, and Laban/Bartenieff foundamental movments. Through these knowledge, I will work on basic body cordinations and spatial awareness through structured exercises and experimental activities.
I enjoy to see students bringing in their individual movement quality through my exercises. Each student would get to express their movement with extended spatial awareness and more multi-layered dynamics. Through my experience, students usually would be shy at first but often develop more sense of community and efficient reflex.
I have professional training in Modern dance, Ballet, West Arican dance, and Jazz from the Dance department of Columbia College Chicago and that of Loyola University Chicago.

I begin with a breif introduction of myself and ask for the new student's goal in this class. Furthermore, I repond to the expectation with a self-designed structure that best fit the student's goal with a few challenges and entertainment.
I have a year of experience in teaching children of 4 to 9 years old. Even though I am more familar with younger students, I have training in dance pathology that could aid students of all ages to learn.
