When working with a new student, my first goal is to establish a professional, yet personable relationship. Not only do I want my student to know who I am or what I have done or achieved, but I want them to know WHY I LOVE to dance and teach. In addition, I want to know how they identify themselves-their strengths, weaknesses, and long time goals (regarding dance and outside dance).
I'll play music, and let them move. I always try to adapt, teach, or choreograph strictly based on said students specific needs and movement styles. By keeping these factors in mind, I am able to establish a personalized curriculum and lesson plan that will be most beneficial to the student.
