About Vincent

I am a dedicated artist and educator. I have a vast resource base from more then 25 years of experience teaching children. I've taught preschool thur undergradschool.

My most valuable educational experience was working as Nancy Beal's, (the author of The Art of Teaching Art to Children), teaching assistant for 2 years at the Village Community School in NYC.

My energetic combination of joy and knowledge for both art and education create a positively fun and informed learning experience.

Everything. Sharing a passion for creativity and freedom. Working hard and having fun. Planting seeds and illuminating. Learning from others. Making stuff!

Linda Clark, The Village Community School's Reading Specialist observed me interact informly with her then 2 year old daughter and told me, "You have that thing one can not learn in college. You know how to communicate with children." Linda got me a job substituting at VCS and then I was offered a teaching job.

About the lesson

I like to look at any drawings/paintings/objects/things the student has created to get an idea about were they are with their dexterity, understanding of the creative process, and interests and develop a curriculum from there.

preschool thru undergradschool, senior citizens, and adults with intellectual and physical learning differences.

I was the Art Teacher at The Children's Community School in West Philadelphia for the 2016-2017 school year.

Back story. More then 20 years ago after attending a seminar on gender at Bank Street I began turning myself into a princess in front of the children by telling them I was a princess, showing them my princess hair, princess dress, princess shoes, jewelry, etc. Spinning around, pointing my toes, and being as princessy as I could.

May 4th 2017, a 4 year hands me a card she made. It said,

"PRINCESS YOU ARE NOT" The N was reveresed.

On the inside it said "LOVE ESME"

You know . . . may the fourth be with you.
