About Nitya

For students who prefer a more relatable, younger teacher who understands the novelties of the school system, I'd be the perfect fit. I have volunteered over 350 hours of time tutoring K-12 students for two organizations, specializing in math, SAT Prep, and reading and writing. I am new to this website have plenty of experience!

I was inspired to start teaching from a young age. I truly enjoyed seeing the spark in my tutee's eyes whenever we broke through into understanding of a new concept.

About the lesson

Identifying their trouble spots and trying to get an idea of the way they learn best, then developing a lesson plan to best assist them. Depending on the age of the student, I develop different types of learning plans that help them memorize and understand information the best; for some this includes games, illustration, visual aids, etc.

K-12

As a student looking to improve or get ahead in a subject area, I would come to a session with an idea of areas you want to improve on so your tutor can best help you with specific areas of concern/interest.

Recently I completed an escape room. Although my family and I required many hints to get through it, the highlight of the activity was when my uncle got stuck behind one of the doors. We thought we had missed a clue, but there was really just a mechanical error!

Nitya was an excellent SAT tutor. I was really struggling with the math section, but with her guidance I was able to increase my math score from a 600 to 800. She carefully taught me all of the question types and how to handle them so on the test I was very prepared and sped through (with extra time!) Keep in mind, math is NOT usually my strong suit. Nitya is a magician and I cannot thank her enough. Highly recommend working with her. You WILL NOT regret it.
