About Claire
“Practice is Worth it” is founded off of the reality that students have to put hard work if they are going to succeed. As a former procrastinator who has now earned my degree in Elementary Education, I truly believe everyone has the ability and desire to succeed. After failure, sometimes we get discouraged or unmotivated to do better. It takes someone of authority establishing encougement, belief, and the proper materials in front of you for them to make the decision on their own to simply try again. Only the student themselves can make the decision to practice and learn the materials. It’s my job as the educator to show them that there is hope, and show them how they can be successful if they just believed in themselves. Having a handful of resources helps too!
As an ENFJ, I see so much potential in others and will do anything I am able to do to make sure they are doing their best. I am so glad someone called me out, and told me how capable I was when I was unmotivated and unwilling to better myself. I want to give the same hope the struggling students.
There’s nothing between than seeing a once struggling student succeed. Doing poorly in school can put a lot of pressure on a child, and I want to help them believe in themselves again. I enjoy getting to know their quirky personalities and seeing how wicked smart they are. We can learn so much from them even when we are the ones teaching.
I am at UCF for my degree in Elementary Education. I have taken several education classes to help maximize my understanding in teaching, as well as done hundreds of observation and work hours with students in the classroom, teaching and tutoring them in areas of struggle.

After telling them a little bit about myself, I will begin by asking the student some questions about themselves. What they enjoy in their personal life, as well as what they like and dislike in their classes. I will ask what their struggles are and try to identify the reasoning behind them. I will use relation to the things they like to help them better relate and understand the topics they struggle with.
