About Nancy

I am a certificated teacher grades 3-12 with a PhD in Comparative Literature from UCLA. I assisted in writing the Language Arts curriculum and have given staff developments on how to implement and integrate common core across the curriculum. My expertise is in English and History. At this time during the pandemic, I tutor students in LA using Zoom or Skype. I assist them with AP Language and Composition, AP American Literature, AP World History, and AP US History. In addition, I prepare them for their PSAT, ACT's and SAT's. We work on essays for college applications, too. I also work with students in college in English, history, and public speaking.

I am a certificated and experienced Teacher for 25+ years. I have taught students in elementary, middle, high school, and college. They succeed and feel confident to be independent students. I have a PhD in comparative literature from UCLA.

About the lesson

First, I assess their work and look at past assignments to determine what the student needs to improve upon. I also speak with the student, so he/she can explain what his/her needs are for him/her. Following this assessment, we then begin the process of improving and enhancing his/her work.

I have worked with elementary, middle, high school, and college students to improve their English skills in reading and writing with an analysis. They learn how to write the various genres with confidence.
