About Jeniffer
I am an experienced classroom teacher certified in Reading N-12, Special Education N-12, Elementary Education N-6, and Art N-12. I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from St. Lawrence University and Masters of Education in both Literacy and Special Education from Dowling College. I have taught both elementary and upper school students as a classroom teacher, resource room teacher and consultant teacher. I have training in Wilson, Fountas and Pinnell’s Leveled Literacy Instruction, Reading Recovery, and Balanced Literacy. I currently tutor students from K-12th grade in Reading, Writing, and Executive Functioning. I develop individualized plans for each students in collaboration with the student, families, and any applicable member if they educational team. These consist of both short and long term goals that allow each student to grow and succeed. I aim to make each lesson fun and engaging so that my students will develop the same passion for learning that I do.
