About Tinotendaishe Kyla
Hi, I'm Kyla. I'm a university student, and teaching is something I enjoy rather than just a way to make money, I like watching something finally click for someone after they've been stuck on it. I try to explain things clearly and patiently, and I pay attention to how each person actually learns, since not everyone gets there the same way. Outside of academics, I've taught swimming informally too, so I understand that teaching isn't just about knowing the material, it's about meeting someone where they are and building their confidence alongside their skill. I'm reliable, easy to communicate with, and genuinely invested in my students doing well, not just getting through a lesson.

I tutor English and swimming, and take a similar approach to both, meeting the student where they actually are rather than following a fixed script. In English, I work on reading, writing and comprehension in a way that builds confidence, adjusting the pace and material to whether I'm working with a younger student or a teenager. In swimming, I'm a strong swimmer who's taught informally before, so I focus on the fundamentals, breathing, technique and comfort in the water, and I'm patient with beginners who are still nervous. I care about students actually understanding and improving, not just getting through a lesson, and I adjust my approach depending on how someone learns best.
