About Lisa
Hello and thank you for reviewing my profile! I am a high school English teacher and private tutor with over a decade of experience teaching students from 3rd-12th grade. I am licensed in elementary education for all subjects, secondary English Language Arts, and 5-21 Special Education.
My professional credentials include a Master of Science in Special Education, 36 hours of graduate course work in English literature, a graduate certificate in Multilingual Education, and certification as a Dyslexia Therapist.
I am skilled at building relationships with students and uncovering their interests and strengths as learners to develop instructional approaches that support conceptual understanding and facilitate transferring new learning to other academic tasks.
I am the parent of two teens and share some of their passions for anime and K-pop, as well as long bike rides and hikes as a family.
