About
Hi! My name is Helen and I have a decade of classroom teaching experience and a Master's in Teaching from the University of Washington. My teaching certificate allows me to teach grades K-8. My Bachelor's is in English. I love working 1-on-1 or with small groups of students. In my tutoring sessions I create a bond with the student so they feel comfortable working with me. I start by setting goals for our time together and my goal is to help students build an association of joy with learning and feel pride in their work. It's important to me that all interactions are positive and respectful. In my teaching, I always lead with warmth. I look forward to working together!
