About Sandra
Hello! My name is Sandra and I am currently a college student studying psychology. I enjoy reading, writing, and anything art-related. I have been tutoring as a volunteer for almost a year. I have taught elementary literacy and academics for high schoolers as well as planning for after high school. I mainly tutor elementary students but can also work with high schoolers depending on the subject. I am passionate about encouraging learning and making fun. I tend to encourage students to ask questions, to ask for help, and to have fun! learning is meant to be interesting and fun!
I have about a year of experience with tutoring which involves a variety of tools and materials. I mainly tutor elementary students but can also work with high schoolers depending on the subject. For students in k to 4th, I focus on literacy activities to help them improve their reading and writing skills as well as phonics and digraphs. I am also able to help with basic math functions and other academic strategies such as social-emotional learning. For middle schoolers or 5, 6th to 8th I focus on academics. for high schoolers, I focus on academics as well as life after highschool.
