About Shay
Hello! I am a recent Univeristy of Michigan student, born and raised in NYC, who is returning to enter a management consulting firm in midtown in the fall. I was the 2019 Valedicatorian at Frank McCourt High School on the Upper West Side and earned a Bachelors degree in Economics at U-M (with a 3.8 GPA). As a naturally talented writer, I have excelled in that area my entire life, but have bolstered my quantitative skillset through my economics coursework. My desired tutoring read included elementary-high school level english, writing, and math, as well as college admissions strategizing and essay writing. I have worked directly with children at Camp Scatico in upsate New York, most recently as a Division leader for 14-year old boys two summers ago. This experience, combined with my academic repertoire make me a trustworthy tutor who has the student's best interests at heart at all times. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I am happy to tailor my methods to parent specifications/goals/feedback. Ultimately, my goal in this is to help make students more confident and interested in their academic pursuits.
